-Happy 29th birthday to former Penguins forward Shane Endicott. A second round pick in 2000, "Endo" spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. As a rookie in 2001-02, Endicott appeared in four games and recorded one assist. After spending the next three seasons with the Penguins' AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Endicott appeared in 41 games at the NHL level in 2005-06 and recorded two points. In the 2006 offseason, he joined the Predators as a free agent. In 45 games with the Penguins, Endicott scored three points. He currently plays for Sport Ghiaccio Pontebba of Serie A in Italy.

Atlantic Division

-Islanders froward Matt Martin was suspended two games for a hit hit to the head of Coyotes forward Vernon Fiddler Saturday.

-The Devils recalled defenseman Matt Corrente from Albany of the AHL.

Northeast Division

-Is anyone still upset the Penguins let Sergei Gonchar (right) go? His plus/minus rating of -19 is 753rd out of 756 NHL players this season.

-The Senators demoted goaltender Mike Brodeur to Binghamton of the AHL.

-Sabres forward Tim Connolly is expected to be sidelined a week following reconstructive nose surgery.

-"That's getting sickening." - Maple Leafs forward Clarke MacArthur on fans chanting for head coach Ron Wilson to be fired.

Southeast Division

-Tomas Vokoun made 26 saves for the Panthers in a 5-0 shutout of the Flyers. Dmitry Kulikov and Evgeny Dadonov each added a goal and an assist for Florida.

-Philadelphia's Nikolay Zherdev staged an impromptu light saber battle with Florida's Dennis Wideman:

-The Panthers sort of, kind of accused the Flyers of taking the game off prior to their Christmas break.

-"Obviously it was our worst game of the year - by far." - Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen.

-Tobias Enstrom had two goals and two assists for the Thrashers in a 6-3 win at Toronto. Freddy Modin added two goals for Atlanta while teammate Anthonty Stewart netted a goal and an assist. Ondrej Pavelec made 37 saves in the victory. Mikhail Grabovski had a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs.

-A goal and two assists by Martin St. Louis helped the Lightning beat the Hurricanes, 5-1. Brett Clark and former Penguin Dominic Moore added a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay while Dan Ellis made 21 saves in the victory. Fire Ray Shero.

-Lightning forward Steven Stamkos recorded his 100th career goal.

-With goaltender Mike Smith dealing with a knee injury, the Lightning recalled goaltender Cedrick Desjardins from Norfolk of the AHL.

-"We have to build off of this; we can't just relax right now." - Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom on his team breaking an eight-game losing streak Sunday.

Central Division

-Former Penguins goaltender Mathieu Garon (right) has essentially replaced Steve Mason as the Blue Jackets' No. 1 goaltender.

-Blues defenseman Roman Polak returned to the lineup for the first time since injuring his wrist in an a collision with Sidney Crosby in October.

Northwest Division

-Roberto Luongo made all of 15 saves for the Canucks in a 3-1 win at St. Louis. Former Penguin Mikael Samuelsson had two assists for Vancouver. Fire Craig Patrick.

-Vancouver's Alexandre Bolduc and Alex Burrows having a moment:

-St. Louis' Carlo Colaiacovo uncorking a shot:

-Cal Clutterbuck and Martin Havlat each had a goal and an assist for the Wild in a 4-1 defeat of the Flames. Niklas Backstrom made 34 saves in the victory.

Pacific Division

-Jonas Hiller made 45 saves for the Ducks in a 3-0 shutout of the Bruins. Brandon McMillan had a goal and an assist for Anaheim while teammate Teemu Selanne recorded two assists.

-It wasn't all bad for the Bruins. Check out this "save" by Patrice Bergeron:

-The Kings demoted forward Oscar Moeller to Manchester of the AHL.

-Forward Marco Sturm is expected to make his Kings debut tonight.
