-Happy 38th birthday to former Penguins forward Glen Murray (right). Acquired in the 1995 offseason, Murray spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh. In 1995-96, he appeared in 69 games and scored 29 points. During that spring's postseason, he played in 18 games and netted eight points. After 66 games and 22 points in 1996-97, Murray was traded to the Kings in exchange for Ed Olczyk. In 135 regular season games with the Penguins, Murray scored 51 points.
Atlantic Division
-Flyers forward Daniel Briere will have a disciplinary hearing with the NHL today at 10 a.m. for a hit to Islanders forward Fans Nielsen late in a game Saturday.
-Philadelphia forward Andreas Nodl and defenseman Andrej Meszaros are day to day with "upper-body" injuries.
Southeast Division
-The Hurricanes recalled forward Jonathan Matsumoto from Charlotte of the AHL and demoted forwards Drayson Bowman and Zac Dalpe to Charlotte.
-The Capitals demoted defenseman Brian Fahey and forward Mathieu Perreault to Hershey of the AHL.
Central Division
-The Blues demoted defenseman Nathan Oystrick to Peoria of the AHL.
Northwest Division
-Canucks defenseman Ryan Parent (right) is dealing with a groin strain.
Pacific Division
-The Coyotes demoted forward Andrew Ebbett to San Antonio of the AHL.
