Asham, Comrie switch; Godard out - 10-29-10

A few minor personnel notes for tonight's game (PG+).

-First, Arron Asham (right) and Mike Comrie were flip-flopped today in practice. Asham will play on the second line with Mark Letestu and Evgeni Malkin while Comrie will slum it up with Craig Adams and Mike Rupp on the fourth line.

-And as suspected, enforcer Eric Godard, who is usually a slightly more valuable asset when the Flyers are involved, will not play tonight due to an illness.

EN Says: We give it until 9:18 of the second period when Dan Bylsma switches the lines up in the game.

That said, Asham is an intriguing element to team with Malkin. First and foremost, he pretty much hits anyone on the opposing team. He'll fight anyone and can pitch in the occasional goal. Plus, you have to figure he'll have a little extra energy tonight making his home debut for the Penguins and playing his former team for the first time.

As for Comrie, he's looking more and more like the second coming of Chris Bourque. He has some definite playmaking skills and he offers quite a bit of potential, but at some point, potential has to equal results. For the most part, that hasn't been the case.

And just for the sake of a little perspective, if you're upset over Comrie, keep this in mind. The Penguins are paying him $500,000 to play on the fourth line. The team on the other side of the ice tonight is paying Nikolay Zherdev $2 million to play on fourth line.
