Penguins

-Exactly 4,054 days after he assumed ownership of the franchise, the Penguins' savior christened the team's new arena.

-Here's the stunning pregame montage and ceremony involving Mario Lemieux which Versus apparently couldn't be bothered to show live:

Rant: If the CBC did this game, they would've had 18 different angles of Lemieux pouring the water and a seven minute mid-intermission interview by Elliotte Friedman with whoever made the bottle the water was in. Instead, Versus apparently showed some lame band preforming in Canada.

-Dave Molinari's recap from last night's game. Mike Yeo's power play failed once again. Wait...

-The Philadelphia Daily News' recap. "I remember in camp, me and Danny [Briere] were thinking 'Who is this kid?'" - Flyers forward Claude Giroux on rookie goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.

-The Philadelphia Inquirer's recap. The Flyers are now 20-16-7 in season openers.

-NHL.com's recap. Bobrovsky became the youngest goaltender in Flyers history to win a season opener at 22 years and 17 days.

-Ron Cook says regardless of the loss, the Penguins were winners last night.

-The Penguins have plenty of options available until Jordan Staal returns.

Claimed from the Blackhawks in the 1967 expansion draft, Stratton's Penguins career amounted to 58 games and 37 points in 1967-68. Midway through the season, he was traded across the state to the Flyers in exchange for Wayne Hicks.
