Penguins demote Jeffrey - 10-04-10
The Penguins have demoted forward Dustin Jeffrey (right) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. In four preseason games, he had three points (one goal, two assists).
Jeffrey appeared in one NHL game last season and failed to score a point. He was the AHL Penguins' leading scorer last season with 71 points (24 goals, 47 assists) in 77 games.
Jeffrey, 22, was a sixth-round pick in 2007.
EN Says: This isn't surprising. The battle for the final roster spot(s) at forward has become a race between Mark Letestu and Eric Tangradi. Jeffrey will likely return to the NHL at some point this season.
