And the Penguins-Wild connections continue.

According to Michael Russo of the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, the Wild has hired former Penguins coach Michel Therrien as a part-time scout.

Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher, a former assistant general manager with the Penguins, said, "He's a really good hockey guy. He's a friend. He's won in a lot of places, and he wants to coach again, so he wants to watch games and stay in the game. So we'll have him watch a couple games for us."

The Penguins fired Therrien Feb. 15, 2009. He spent parts of four seasons with the Penguins. In 272 regular season games as the Penguins' coach Therrien had a record of 135-105-32. He led the team to the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference titles in 2008.

This is the latest in a series of front office moves by Minnesota involving former members of the Penguins. The team's head coach is Todd Richards, the former head coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. This summer, former Penguins assistant coach Mike Yeo was hired as head coach of the Houston Aeros, Minnesota's AHL affiliate.
