Picture this - 09-29-10
Something we got away from last season was the fairly popular "Picture This" segments of this blog. Basically, readers sending photos. We post them. Pretty simple.
It seems like a fairly light workload, but surprisingly it's not. When you get massive amounts of .jpg files and you try to sort through them and properly attribute them, it can get a little overwhelming. Roughly midway through the 2009-10 season, we just threw our hands up and quit doing it.
So if you sent us photos of a road trip you made to Columbus or of some Penguins logo sculpted in snow and we pretty much ignored them, we apologize.
With that in mind, please allow us to establish a few rules with sending in photos:
1.) Send attachments. If you want us to consider a photo, we need it sent to our address ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) as an attachment. Preferably as a .jpg. Please don't send us to a link of your Flickr or Photobucket account. We simply don't have time to sort through 73 photos of your trip to Madison Square Garden. No offense.
2.) Make it interesting. If you're going to send something, please use some judgement and send it if there's something different or interesting to it. Frankly, if you go to Iceoplex in Southpointe, your photos are pretty much the same as any one else's who spent the morning at Iceoplex. Again, no offense.
3.) Please identify yourself. If you spot Troy Loney in a library in Brackenridge and you send us a photo of Troy Loney in a library in Brackenridge, you should get credit for sending in a photo of Troy Loney a library in Brackenridge.
Please follow these rules and you'll increase your chances for getting.
And now some photos.
Paul Svirbel was in Mexico City this summer and naturally, he spotted some guy in Zocalo Square rocking a Paul Coffey jersey:

-Would he be "Pablo Cafe" in Mexico?
-Longtime EN contributor Jarrett Rathke sent us a picture of some candy bars. And not just any candy bars. Clark Bars celebrating the Penguins' back to back Stanley Cup championships in the 1990s:

-Despite a few moves, Rathke keeps these things frozen and unopened.
-Andrew Stocker was at last night's game and noticed something peculiar with one of the 1990-91 team photo in one of the stairwells at Consol Energy Center:

-The Penguins either just forgot about their dramatic seven-game series win against the Devils in the Patrick Division semifinal round or there's simply a strong level of disdain for former New Jersey Chris Terreri which exists to this day.
-John Bodnar was recently at an antique shop and took home these beauties:

-The fact that someoen was once paid (presumably) to draw Jaromir Jagr's mullet brings us an amount of joy which can't be properly describe in any languages we're fluent in.
-Over the summer, Phil Quinn took in one of the Paul McCartney concerts which opened the new facility. He sent in this just dazzling panoramic shot of the building:

-And finally, Brad Krenicky took in the first day of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' camp. For some reason, we really dig that they're using the brawny, "steroid" Penguins logo which became popular in the 1990s on their practice jerseys:
