Face(off) value - 09-27-10
During Saturday's 3-1 win against the Blue Jackets, the Penguins controlled faceoffs winning 41 draws out of 59 (69.5%). After the game, Dan Bylsma pointed out the efforts of Dustin Jeffrey and Joe Vitale (right) in the faceoff circle and how they - as well as others like Mark Letestu who are battling to make the NHL roster - add value to their games when the coaching staff evaluates who makes the roster.
With Jordan Staal unavailable to start the season, the Penguins figure to need someone to take draws, particularly on the penalty kill, to fill in.
