-Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Wheeling Nailers forward Adam Heinrich has joined Asiago in Italy.
-Happy 60th birthday to former Penguins forward Steve Cardwell. A fifth-round pick in 1970, Cardwell spent parts of three seasons with the Penguins. As a rookie in 1970-71, Cardwell saw action in five games and recorded on assist. He saw action in 28 games during 1971-72 and scored 15 points. In 20 games in 1971-72, Cardwell recorded four points. Following that season, he joined the Minnesota Fighting Saints of the WHA as a free agent. In 53 games with the Penguins, he recorded 20 points.
Northeast Division
-Chris Phillips is the only defenseman from the Senators run to the Stanley Cup final in 2007 still on the team's roster.
-The Sabres re-signed restricted free agent forward Mark Mancari to a one-year deal. Financial terms were not available.
Southeast Division
-The Capitals agreed to re-sign unrestricted free agent forward Eric Belanger to a one-year, $1.85 million contract.
Central Division
-The Blackhawks will put single-game tickets on sale Monday. The Penguins pay a visit Feb. 20.
Smythe Division
-Former Bruins/Islanders defenseman Brett Skinner has joined Amur Khabarovsk of the KHL.
