So, with 49 days remaining before we tee it up and kick it off here in Western Pennsylvania, the time just seemed right. Oh, yeah, it seemed right. But then again, is there ever a time that is wrong for a Stefan Djordjevic tribute?!?!
In my estimation, All the Right Moves isn't the best sports movie of all time ... no, it is the best movie of all time.
Let's take a look at some of the competition:
The Godfather you ask? Rubbish compared to a drama about Western PA football.
Singin' in the Rain you say? Well, Gene Kelly is from our area ... but dancin' ain't football.
Citizen Kane? Orson Welles is good, very good. But come on, he is no Craig T. Nelson as coach Nickerson! Just look at the guy, what a leader of men.
Oh, so you want to throw Taxi Driver at me, now, huh? Let's get something straight, Rifleman (even though he fumbled in Ampipe's most crucial situation) would whip Travis Bickle and Martin Scorsese's best work is, undeniably, without the shadow of a doubt, The Last Waltz, especially when my man Van Morrison absolutely kills it.
