Oh, something else great as we spiral toward the high school football season is pregame speeches.

There are good ones, and not so good one.

I found the above one on the best website in the world not called post-gazette.com YouTube and let's just say this is, uh, one of the not so good ones.

The coach is a guy named Jim Cantafio, and this clip is from when he was at West Lawn Wilson and Chad Henne played quarterback for him.

My take is this: The guy makes a complete clown of himself and I have absolutely no idea how any kid can get fired up as a result of this.

Now, coach Cantafio, here is a little how-to on pregame speeches.

Take a look at the following, it is from Bill Stewart, from West Virginia. It is his pregame speech from the Fiesta Bowl this past season ... and it is the way to earn respect from your players.
