I was researching some old articles in the Post-Gazette the other day, looking up some information when the Ford City boys' basketball team played for a state championship at the Civic Arena in 1979.

Anyway, in 1979 Conemaugh Township in Johnstown made it to the Class A state title game. Hostetler was the team's standout player. In a semifinal game against East Brady, Hostetler had 28 points and 15 rebounds in a 63-57 victory. Conemaugh Township went on to lose in the state title game to St. Pius X, but it was a memorable team and Hostetler showed how good of an athlete he was. He finished his career with 2,300 career points.
