Playoff updates: Mt. Lebanon wins by two; McConnell scores 44

10:19 p.m. - Correction on T.J. McConnell's point total. The official count was 44 points.
9:52 p.m. - Upper St. Clair knocked off Hempfield, 60-56, in overtime in Class AAAA boys.
9:40 p.m. - Mt. Lebanon boys beat Shaler, 33-31. Mt. Lebanon shot 12 of 37 from the field. Jesse Della Valle missed a driving shot at the buzzer for Shaler.
Elsewhere, Hempfield and Upper St. Clair are in overtime.
9:31 p.m. - Char Valley's T.J. McConnell finished with 46 points in an easy Char Valley win.
Some updates from WPIAL first-round playoff action:
Mt. Lebanon, No. 1 ranked Class AAAA team, is tied with Shaler, 25-25, at the end of the third quarter. This was after Mt. Lebanon took a 13-0 lead to start the game and led, 22-13, at halftime.
Meanwhile, Chartiers Valley leads 47-26 at halftime. T.J. McConnell, the WPIAL's leading scorer, has 29 points at halftime.
Butler girls, the No. 2 seed in WPIAL Class AAAA, led by only a point with a little more than a minute left in the game, but hung on for a 42-38 win against Penn-Trafford.
