McKeesport High School will hire a new football coach tonight and it is expected to be Yough coach Jim Ward.

Ward would succeed George Smith, who retired after 28 seasons. Smith was highly successful, with a 197-107-5 record, including two WPIAL titles and two PIAA titles.

Ward was Yough's head coach for only one season, and also was South Allegheny's head coach from 2000-02. After that, he was an assistant at Clairton for four years and an assistant at Jeannette for two. He was an assistant at Jeannette during the Terrelle Pryor days.
