Mt. Lebanon's Madison Cable was a member of the Post-Gazette Fabulous 5, which is made up of the top five girls' basketball players in the WPIAL-City League. But Cable's reputation for excellence isn't provincial.

Cable, a 5-foot-11 junior, is one of only 30 juniors in the country who have been selected to the ESPN Rise magazine Underclass All-American Team. That's a pretty big honor. By the end of March, Duquesne already had offered Cable a scholarship and a number of other Division I schools were interested. So, she most certainly will play Division I in the future.

Cable is an extremely versatile guard with good size. She helped Mt. Lebanon win WPIAL and PIAA Class AAAA championships for the second year in a row. On a team that featured balance, she was the team's leading scorer at 15 ppg. She also averaged 6.6 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.2 blocks. She shot 60 percent from the field, 41 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
