Bill Minear resigned as Ambridge's boys' basketball coach two weeks ago to take the Sto-Rox job. It didn't take all that long for Ambridge to find a new coach.

At a school board meeting tonight, Ambridge hired Joe Falletta as coach. Former Center coach Mark Jula was one of the other finalists.

Falletta had been out of coaching for four years after resigning at North Hills after the 2006 season. He coached North Hills for three seasons and Hopewell for eight. His all-time record is 159-120 (35-41 at North Hills and 124-79 at Hopewell). He guided Hopewell to a WPIAL Class AAA title game and North Hills to the semifinals for the first time in school history.
