Penguins shutout at awards (kind of) - 06-23-10

Sidney Crosby and Jordan Staal had chances at a handful of awards but only came home with one.

Crosby won the Mark Messier Leadership Award (above, with its namesake and Crosby) but lost out to Vancouver's Henrik Sedin and Washington's Alex Ovechkin for the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Ted Lindsay award respectively.

The Hart is the NHL's MVP while the Lindsay is the NHLPA's MVP.

Staal was a finalist for the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the league's top defensive forward but lost out to Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk.

Coyotes coach Dave Tippett, a former Penguins forward, won the Jack Adams Award as the league's top coach.
