Orie's bad bill

I wonder how all of my fellow city dwellers feel about state Sen. Jane Orie putting both feet into Pittsburgh politics with a plan that would strike down city residency requirements for Pittsburgh police officers ("City Opposes Latest Effort to Nix Police Residency Rules," June 17)?

I wonder which of Ms. Orie's well-to-do McCandless constituents has a relative who is a Pittsburgh police officer for her to become the torchbearer for that cause? Mayor Luke Ravenstahl must sleep soundly at night knowing ol' Jane Orie is on the job burning the midnight oil worrying about the city of Pittsburgh.

Hey, Ms. Orie, how about worrying about balancing the budget by July?
