Arena possibilities

Removal of the Civic Arena will lead only to a new parking lot between the Hill and Downtown.

It should be retained to provide a home for indoor musical concerts, jazz education and the Pittsburgh Folk Festival to which the spring Americian Indian Pow Wow should be added.

Also it should incorporate two Hill historical buildings. One, a former home, should be used for graduate-level music education. The other should be converted to a non-alcohol blues nightclub.

This proposal should be supported by the universities, with the manager an arts educator specializing in either folk or jazz.
