About the flotilla

The June 12 letter titled "Pressure Israel," calling for an end to "the siege of Gaza," was really ill-informed. The flotilla was sponsored by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which has well-documented ties to Hamas and other Islamic terrorist groups, including al-Qaeda.

Israel wants peace but will not tolerate terrorists. Israel established a naval blockade that was not intended to stop humanitarian supplies but rather to inspect the ships for arms to be used against Israel. Gaza has received many gifts from Israel.

Hamas, which has a charter calling for the destruction of Israel, is continually trying to rearm to further its aim to destroy Israel. Hamas has fired more than 7,000 rockets and mortars into Israel after the Jewish state withdrew from Gaza in 2005.

I hope this information will enlighten many who feel that Israel stopped a humanitarian deed. Jews and non-Jews should know the facts.
