Elect a pothole
This election definitely has more worthy candidates and certainly more depth than the one held on Tuesday.
As part of insurance company The Hartford's Pothole Patrol promotional campaign, Pittsburghers can visit this web site to cast a vote for the area's worst pothole. Six candidates have thrown their hubcaps in the ring -- craters on 21st and Wharton, Butler and 36th, Centre and Craig, McNeilly and Pearce, McArdle at Windom and Whitworth and Boggs. The website invites more nominees.
The Hartford is sending crews all over the country to fix potholes as part of the campaign. It has a date here on Wednesday. It says driving on rough roads costs the typical American $400 per year.
