Where's Pittsburgh?
Patricia Behnke in the May 5 "Raves" column ("She First Fell Hard for a Pittsburgher, Then for His City") has solved a problem that I have faced many times when living in several other states.
"Just where is Pittsburgh?" people would ask. In New Jersey, Pittsburgh was called the "Midwest," and in Michigan, it was the "East." Ms. Behnke solves the problem of where Pittsburgh is. She says it "exists as the western East, the eastern West, the southern North and the northern South."
Now, if only I can remember that the next time I am asked, "Just where is Pittsburgh?"
