Bring in the experts

U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy has sent me his latest e-news. In it he told how his congressional committee on energy is now tackling the problem of premature births. Lord, save me from the politicians.

Recently the politicians tackled our health care system. We did get a law that has eliminated some of the worst abuses of the health insurance industry and a lot more people will have access to insurance than ever before, but we did not touch the other two important parts of health care: quality and costs.

There was a fine letter to the editor on this page several months ago that said something like "When we decided to send a man to the moon and back safely, we did not ask Congress how to do it; we hired experts in the field." I propose we do the same with the remaining problems with our health care system.

Keep the politics and the politicians out of it!
