Penguins recall Conner - 10-29-09

The Penguins have recalled forwards Chris Conner (above) and Mark Letestu from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL according to Jonathan Bombulie of the Citizens Voice in Wilkes-Barre.
Conner (5-foot-8, 180 pounds), signed in the offseason, leads the AHL Penguins in scoring this eason with eight points (two goals, six assists) in seven games. In 38 games with the Dallas Stars last season, Conner had 13 points (three goals, 10 assists).
Letestu (5-foot-11, 195 pounds) has five points (two goals, three assists) in four games.
EN Says: The call up of Conner isn't surprising since he had one of the strongest traing camps of any of the fringe guys battling for the 13th forward spot on the NHL roster. He brings some serious speed and NHL experience.
Letestu is a bit of surprise as he missed much of training camp and the early part of the AHL season due to a knee injury. We would've thought someone with a bit more NHL experience like Ryan Bayda or Dustin Jeffrey would get the call before Letestu.
Correction: The Penguins have only recalled Conner.
