PREGAME

-Greetings from gloomy and overcast Pittsburgh. It's a cold "wet" mid January night here. By "Wet" we mean that the air is humid. It's not raining or snowing thankfully, but you can breathe in the moisture pretty well.

-Some pregame sights. This is from last night actually. The rink at PPG Place:

-Consol Energy Center prior to this morning's skate:

-Mellon Arena:

-One of the Penguins broke some glass this morning:

(We assume it wasn't on a power play drill.)

-You get 30 wins? You get 30 pucks:

-We noticed this unique sign along Smithfield Street on our way up to the Arena tonight:

-The clock at the old Kaufmann's building:

-Inside that building, which is now a Macy's, Penguins gear is on display for window shoppers:

-Mellon Arena:

-The ice:

-They got some new nets here by the looks of things:

-We guess people wouldn't believe it was made in Canada without the maple leaf.

-Somewhat fittingly, former Islanders captain Bill Guerin gets the call for IceTime:

-Some sights around the arena. A Luc Robitaille jersey:

-Darius Kasparaitis:

-This is the winner of the night hands down. A Ron Francis Whalers jersey, complete with captain's "C" and the "Pucky the Whale" on the shoulder:

-Alex Kovalev:

-Here's a good one. Philippe Boucher:

-Team USA:

-They're pushing the St. Patrick's Day stuff early:

-Jacket foul here with this Tennessee Titans fan:

-Bob Errey:

-An old Rick DiPietro Team USA:

-This gentleman in a Jason Blake already has two goals tonight:

-Mario Lemieux Wales Conference All-Star:

-Throwback Islanders John Tavares:

-Warm ups:

-The Penguins' scratches are Marc-Andre Fleury and the decreasingly great Martin Skoula.

-The Islanders' scratches are Nate Thompson, Jeff Tambellini and Rick DiPietro.

-Dwayne Roloson and Brent Johnson are your starting goaltenders.

-Brooks Orpik refuses to unleash the crazy eyes on Dan Potash's delicate soul:

-The delicate tones of Jeff Jimerson:

-Click here for the first period.
