-The Devils are still mulling over whether or not to bring back forward Sergei Brylin.

-The Bruins signed defenseman Mark Stuart to a two-year contract extension.
-The Maple Leafs will buy out forward Darcy Tucker. Toronto also put goaltender Andrew Raycroft and forward Kyle Wellwood on waivers.
Southeast Division
-The Hurricanes signed forward Tuomo Ruutu, who has a brother we hear, to a one-year deal.
-Barry Melrose was officially introduced as the Lightning’s new head coach/clown. Former Penguins forward Rick Tocchet and former Wild forward Wes Walz will be his assistant coaches.
-The Lightning put goaltender Marc Denis on waivers.
-Flyers hall-of-famer Bill Barber resigned from the Lightning as director of player personnel.

Central Division
-It’s looking like defenseman Chris Chelios will return to the Red Wings.
-Red Wings consultant and former Penguins head coach Scotty Bowman shot down rumors he would be taking a position with the Blackhawks.
-Detroit defenseman Brad Stuart is dealing with a shoulder injury.
-The Predators dealt defenseman Janne Niskala and a seventh-round draft pick to the Flyers for forward Triston Grant.
-Predators investor Williams "Boots" Del Biaggio owes a ton of money.
-The Blackhawks signed defenseman Jordan Hendry to a two-year contract.
-Chicago forward Rene Bourque was awarded $110,000 for getting hit in the face with a skate blade during a game in 2006.
Northwest Division
-The Avalanche signed forward Scott Parker to a one-year deal.
Pacific Division
-The NHL suspended Ducks owner Henry Samueli from any involvement with the team or league indefinitely.
Adams Division
-It hasn't been a good month for Gary Bettman in regards to his relationship with several NHL owners.
