Hurricanes deal Cole to Edmonton for Pitkanen

The Hurricanes traded forward Erik Cole, one of the team's most popular players, to the Oilers for defenseman Joni Pitkanen.

 EN Says: With Glen Wesley retiring and Bret Hedican deciding to leave, Carolina needed a puck-moving defenseman and that's exactly what Pitkanen is. He can be a little inconsistent however. After picking up Lubomir Visnovsky in a trade, the Oilers didn't need Pitkanen.

Cole is a consistent 20-goal guy who can do quite a few things well. He can grow a pretty mean beard. The Oilers have been busy so far.
