Rozsival, Redden sign with Rangers

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Senators defenseman Wade Redden has agreed to sign with the Rangers. He joins former Penguins defenseman Michal Rozsival who has re-signed with the Blueshirts. The Rangers also signed Sharks forward Patrick Rissmiller

EN Says: Redden has the ability to be a top five defenseman in this league, but he's never seemed to have had the heart. It's a smart signing by the Rangers because it address a need for a top flight defenseman, but you have to wonder if Redden is that guy.

Rozsival is a fairly underrated player and has improved a ton since leaving the Penguins, but $5 million a year for him? That's Sergei Gonchar type of money.

Rissmiller is a third- or fourth-liner.
