Ducks sign Morrison

Canucks center Brendan Morrison agreed to a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks.

EN Says: This is a very nice signing. When healthy, Morrison is a very good playmaker and can help set up scoring opportunities for wingers. He can occasionally score himself as he's hit the 20-goal mark four times in his career.

The Ducks were forced to trade center Andy McDonald last season due to salary cap issues and they never quite replaced him. Morrison isn't quite the caliber of player McDonald is, but he helps fill that void.

After losing Morrison, one has to wonder what exactly new Canucks general manager Mike Gillis is doing with his team.
