EMPTY NETTER ASSISTS

Penguins

-Flyers forward Glen Metropolit is a good human. (You have no idea how much it hurt to write that.)

-Islanders forward Bill Guerin apparently has Brett Favre on his fantasy team.

Northeast Division

-Should Canadiens coach Guy Cabonneau be in the Hall of Fame as a player?

Central Division

-The Predators signed goaltender Chet Pickard, a first-round pick in this year's draft, to an entry-level deal.

Northwest Division

-If you ever wanted to design the mask of a Canucks backup goaltender, Curtis Sanford is giving you a chance.

Adams Division

-The NHL released the entire preseason schedule.
