20:00: The Staal-Malkin-Sykora line starts with Orpik and Letang on defense.
18:38: Jonas Frogren hammers Talbot to the ice with a nice check. Talbot gets up and Frogren trips him. Two minutes. The Penguins put Sykora, Satan, Malkin, Goligoski and Staal on the ice.
17:55: Sykora controls the puck along the goal line and simply throws it into the crease. It somehow squeaks through Pogge's equipment an into the net for what is the definition of a garbage goal. Malkin and Satan get the assists. The "Hey Song" is played. Penguins 1-0.
14:11: A "fight" between Goligoski and Kris Newbury breaks out. Essentially, Newbury jumped Goligoski who didn't even throw a punch. Newbury gets a double minor for roughing. Thankfully, things went a little bit better for Newbury than the last time he threw a punch at a Penguin.
Goligoski, Malkin, Satan, Sykora and Staal go to the ice.
13:26: Staal dishes a nifty pass into the slot for Malkin. Malkin makes a soft re-direct on net. Pogge makes the save.
12:08: Talbot controls the puck at the point and slides it into the corner for Fedotenko. Fedotenko simply slides the puck into the slot where it bounces off a Maple Leaf's leg and past Pogge. Garbage goal No. 2. The goal is unassisted. "Hey Song." Penguins 2-0.

2:47: Dupuis controls the puck behind the Toronto net, slides out and fires a bullet on net. Pogge deflects it away.
2:23: Kaberle blasts a slapper from the point. Sabourin gets a piece of it but can't contain the rebound which is shuffled away.
1:06: Ponikarovsky fires a wrister from the left side. Sabourin calmly gloves the puck and hangs on.
1:04: Bissonnette and Mayers drop the gloves right off the faceoff. Only a few punches are thrown. They mostly wrestle each other before Bissonnette throws him to the ice. We could see Bissonnette starting the fight. He's trying to earn a roster spot but Mayers? Isn't he established?
0:43: Dupuis come down the left win and fires a wrister. Pogge eats it up.
0:00: End of period. Penguins 2, Maple Leafs 0.

19:23: Orpik dumps a Mapl Leaf in the corner with a check.
18:50: Uh, they might want to try this Malkin guy out on the penalty kill. He forces the puck up ice, steals it off Stralman approaches the net, gives it to Staal, gets it back from Staal and punches it into an open net. Pretty goal. Hey Song. Penguins 3-0.

1:19: Antropov fires a wrister from the right boards. Sabourin blocks it away.
0:49: Satan has a chance in tight. He tries a backhander in tight but the puck sails high.
0:30: As Sabourin makes another save, a small scrum ensues. There was an arguement over if Éamon de Valera wore glasses or not. We think.
0:08: Another scrum. This time they're arguing over the plot of Porky Pig's Feat. We think.
0:00: End of period. Penguins 3, Maple Leafs 0.
The Penguins own an 18-12 lead in shots.
They also have a 23-18 lead in faceoffs.
-Dupuis still leads the game in shotws with three.

11:06: Malkin tries to punch in a feed into the slot. He can't get the puck to go into the net, but Stralman, trailing Malkin, falls into the cage and dislodges. The play merits a cheer and a replay on the Jumbotron.

0:00: End of game. Penguins 3, Maple Leafs 2.
-Toronto outshot the Penguins 29-21.
-Your three stars are 3.) Blake, 2.) Staal, and 1.) Malkin.
-The Malkin-Staal-Sykora line is looking pretty good. There's absolutely no reason to fear that grouping won't work.
-The Maple Leafs looked pretty weak until the third period when they felt a little bit more urgency.
-The Penguins had a 34-28 edge in faceoffs.
-Sydor led the game in blocked shots with five.
-Malkin led the team in ice time with 22:34. Goligoski was second with 22:16.
-Goligoski looks nothing like a rookie. He's very composed seemingly anytime he's out there. He calm anytime he has the puck. With Whitney and potentially Gonchar out for extended periods of times, Goligoski will help negate their absences.
-Dupuis and Sykora led the Penguins in shots with three.
-Surprisingly, we only spotted a few Maple Leafs fans.
