Burke out in Anaheim - 11-12-08

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Brian Burke has stepped down as Ducks general manager and will be replaced by Bob Murray, the team's vice president of hockey operations. Burke has been linked to the Maple Leafs in rumors for several months.

EN Says: Burke's one heck of a general manager. He built the Canucks into a Cup contender in the early part of this decade and he brought the Cup to Anaheim in 2007. Should he join Toronto, he should be able to turn that franchise around almost immediately.

UPDATE: Burke will stay with Anaheim in an advisory capacity but will have the ability to negotiate future employment.

He also has one amazing head of hair.
