Central Division

-The Blackhawks made a few moves yesterday: They placed forward Adam Burish on injured reserve due to a broken toe, recalled forward Pascal Pelletier from Rockford of the AHL and acquired defenseman Jimmy Sharrow from the Canucks for a conditional draft pick.

-The Red Wings sure don't seem like they have a lot of faith in goaltender Chris Osgood these days.

-The Blue Jackets are getting creative with ticket sales.

-Predators captain Jason Arnott was not happy with the Canucks last night.

Northwest Division

-Curtis Sanford made 20 saves and led the Canucks to a 3-1 win in Nashville.

-Two goals from Cody McLeod helped the Avalanche rout the Kings, 6-1. Ryan Smyth and Chris Stewart each contributed a goal and an assist to the win. Peter Budaj made 29 saves in the win.

-Wild forward Marian Gaborik practiced for the first time in nearly two months.

Pacific Division

-Kings forward and Jefferson Hills native John Zeiler dropped the gloves with Colorado forward Ian Laperriere last night:

-The fight was payback for a hit by Zeiler on Colorado defenseman Adam Foote earlier this season. Zeiler expressed remorse for the hit.

-Forward Ryan Carter has been a pleasant surprise for the Ducks.

-Kings forward Brad Richardson is dealing with a cut leg.

-Stars forward Mike Ribeiro has expanded his game.

-The Coyotes would be missed if they left Phoenix.

-Sharks forward Jonathan Cheechoo practiced for the first time in 10 days.

Smythe Division
