Useless Devils Trivia: The Devils franchise is one of four franchises in the four "major" North American sports leagues to have operated out of at least three different time zones in its history. The Devils have been in New Jersey since 1983. Prior to that it existed as the Colorado Rockies (1976-82) and as the Kansas City Scouts (1974-76). The other franchises to turn this hat trick are the Oakland Athletics (Oakland, Kansas City and Philadelphia), St. Louis Rams (St. Louis, Los Angeles, Cleveland) and the Sacramento Kings (Sacramento, Kansas City, Cincinnati and Rochester).

Bonus Useless Devils Trivia: The last active player in the NHL to have played with the Scouts was forward Wilf Paiement who retired after spending the 1987-88 season with the Penguins.
