Penguins

-The Canadiens are facing the Penguins at the right time Saturday.

-The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have a big game tonight against the rival Philadelphia Phantoms.

Northeast Division

-Sabres forward Jason Pominville is having trouble finding the back of the net.

Southeast Division

-Goaltender Mike Smith has been one of the Lightning's tops players.

-Thrashers general manager Don Waddell said his team is looking for a center (and just about everything else).

-The Capitals will recall forwards Alexandre Giroux, Andrew Gordon, defenseman Bryan Helmer and goaltender Simeon Varlamov from Hershey of the AHL.

Central Division

-Blue Jackets defenseman Mike Commodore has found an odd way of getting people to come to hockey games in Columbus.

Northwest Division

-The Wild claims it is not resting forward Marian Gaborik in order to trade him.

Pacific Division

-The retirement of Mattias Norstrom has opened a door for Stars defenseman Nicklas Grossman.

-Kings rookie defenseman Drew Doughty has had a lot of help from teammates in adjusting to the NHL.
