Penguins

-Evgeni Malkin (above) sure likes his toast.

-Apparently Mario Lemieux is making another comeback. This time it's with the Sharks.

-Penguins executive David Morehouse is living the dream.

-Bryan Ewing and Jon Grecu each had two goals for the Wheeling Nailers who routed the Cincinnati Cyclones, 6-1.

Atlantic Division

-Two goals from Mike Comrie helped the Islanders beat the Panthers, 4-2. Teammates Mark Streit had a goal and an assist while Kyle Okposo added two assists.

-The Islanders made a few moves. Forward Mike Sillinger was put on injured reserve due to a hip injury. Forward Mitch Fritz was put on waivers and forward Trevor Smith was recalled from Bridgeport of the AHL.

-Doug Weight wants to stay on the Island.

-Devils coach Brent Sutter wasn't happy with his team last night.

Northeast Division

-The Maple Leafs recalled forward Jiri Tlusty from their AHL affiliate.

-Toronto forward and former Penguin Dominic Moore (right) has reached a career high in points. Fire Ray Shero.

-The Canadiens demoted forward Ben Maxwell and defenseman Ryan O'Byrne to Hamilton of the AHL.

-Sabres coach Lindy Ruff put forwards Jochen Hecht and Derek Roy on notice.

-2008 was not a great year for Mike Fisher and the Senators.

Southeast Division

-Two goals and an assist from Sergei Samsonov helped the Hurricanes claim a 3-1 win against the Thrashers.

-The Lightning isn't quitting on this season.

-Tampa Bay forwards and former Penguins Adam Hall and Ryan Malone will be paying attention to the Winter Classic today.
