-Boston defenseman and former Penguin Andrew Ference is recovering from a broken leg. Fire Craig Patrick.

Southeast Division

-Alex Ovechkin had a goal and two assists for the Capitals in a 7-4 defeat of the Lightning. Teammates Boyd Gordon, Matt Green and former Penguins forward Matt Bradley all added a goal and an assist. -Lightning defenseman and former Penguins prospect Jamie Heward was injured last night on a hit from behind by Ovechkin:

-Heward was kept at a hospital overnight for observations and was moving his limbs.

-Regardless of Heward's condition, Ovechkin, who was very remorseful for the hit, deserves to be suspended for it. You don't hit anyone from behind. That said, if Ovechkin would've spoken ill of Heward's significant other, we assume he would be out for six games.
