Minard recalled - 1-28-09

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

The Penguins recalled forward Chris Minard (right) from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL today. He has one goal and is a minus-4 in 13 games with the NHL Penguins this season. He has 43 points (28 goals, 15 assists) in 34 AHL games this season.

EN Says: This is a move based on the suspension of Matt Cooke. We would've liked to have seen Dustin Jeffrey get the nod instead of Minard, but Minard is a winger while Jeffrey is more of a center. That said, as we've stated before, no one from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is going to make or break this roster at the moment.
