Central Division

-The Red Wings recalled forwards Aaron Downey and Ville Leino from Grand Rapids of the AHL and put defenseman Brad Stuart on injured reserve.

-Nashville defenseman Alexander Sulzer is dealing with a separated shoulder.

-Predators investor and would-be Penguins owner William "Boots" Del Biaggio III is expected to plead guilty to a series of charges next week.

-Defenseman Mike Commodore is fitting in well with the Blue Jackets.

Northwest Division

-The Avalanche activated forward Cody McCormick from injured reserve and put forward David Jones on injured reserve.

-The Oilers recalled forward Ryan Potulny from Springfield of the AHL.

-The Wild demoted former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Krys Kolanos to Houston of the AHL.

-Canucks forward Mats Sundin needs to hit the exercise bike.

Pacific Division

-Steve Ott (right) had a goal and an assist and led the Stars to a 4-2 win at Detroit. Teammates Mike Modano and Brad Richards each had two assists. Former Penguins forward Marian Hossa scored a goal for the Red Wings who are on a four-game losing streak. Fire Ray Shero. Detroit goaltender Chris "Tin Foil Hat" Osgood was pulled after the first period when he let in three goals.

-Stars forward Krys Barch lost eight teeth last night after getting hit in the face with the stick of Detroit defenseman Chris Chelios. No word yet if Chelios lent Barch his dentures.

-Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves for the Sharks in a 2-0 win against the Coyotes. Phoenix forward Steven Reinprecht left the game with a shoulder injury.

-Dustin Brown had two goals and an assist for the Kings in a 5-2 defeat of the Blackhawks. Teammate Alexander Frolov added a goal and an assist. Brian Campbell led Chicago with two assists.

-Nabokov set the Sharks' franchise record for a scoreless streak.

-The Sharks demoted defenseman Mike Moore to Worcester of the AHL.

-The Ducks signed enforcer and Washington, Pa. native George Parros to a three-year contract extension worth $875,000 per season.

-Anaheim goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere isn't happy about being benched.

-The Kings activated forward Brad Richardson from injured reserve.

Smythe Division

-Don Cherry doesn't use the "p" word.
