Canada vs. Germany - 02-23-10

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

-Well that was hardly surprising. Canada, fresh off a loss to the United States got to pick on an overwhelmed Germany and came out with a resounding win.

-The much debated change to Roberto Luongo (above) in net went well but what did you expect? He was hardly tested.

-Sidney Crosby was much better, but this was hardly a true test. That said, Eric Staal worked well on his wing. Staal has the speed to play with Crosby.

-Jarome Iginla looks just fine on that line.

-Things will pick up with Russia tomorrow. Just a little bit.

-Canada ended up with a 39-23 lead in shots.

-Crosby led the game with five shots.

-Chrstian Ehrhoff, Dennis Seidenberg and Marcel Muller each had three for Germany.

-Ehrhoff led the game with 21:22 of ice time.

-Keith led Canada with 19:07.

-Crosby had 14:43 and a +2.

-Former Penguins defenseman Sven Butenschon had 11:55 and a minus-1.

-Game summary.

-Dejan Kovacevic is digging up postgame stuff.
