Todd Reirden(right) has been named the interim head coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He assumes the position after the promotion of Dan Bylsma as the NHL Penguins' interim head coach. Reirden was an assistant coach under Bylsma at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Reirden joined the Penguins organization this past August. He was previously an assistant at Bowling Green. A 12th-round pick of the Devils in 1990, Reirden appeared in 183 regular season games as a NHL player.

A search for an assistant coach is ongoing.

Jonathan Bombulie of the Wilkes-Barre/Citizens voice has more on Reirden's promotion.
