-Detroit demoted goaltender Jimmy Howard to Grand Rapids of the AHL.

-Rib and spinal injuries won't keep Red Wings defenseman Brad Stuart from Wednesday's big game against the Sharks.

Northwest Division

-Wild foward Owen Nolan is dealing with a toe injury.

Pacific Division

-Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov made 29 saves and earned his 45th career shutout, a 1-0 defeat of the Stars.
