The Devils have lost five consecutive games. The Rangers are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 89 points, one less than the Penguins who are in sixth place with 90 points.

Pacific Division
-Joe Thornton had two assists and helped the Sharks edge the Flames, 2-1.

50th win of the season. Calgary
has lost eight of it's past 12 games.
-Petr Prucha's (right) overtime goal gave the Coyotes a 6-5 win against the
Stars. Enver Lisin had two goals and an assist for Phoenix while teammate Scottie Upshall added
two goals. Mike Ribeiro had three assists for Dallas which has lost seven consecutive
games.
-The Sharks signed defenseman Nick Petrecki, a first-round pick in 2007, to
a three-year entry-level deal.
-Kings general manager Dean Lombardi is
happy where his team is at.
-The Ducks signed defenseman Mark Mitera, a first-round pick in 2006, to
a three-year entry-level deal.
