Capitals beat Rangers, tie series, 3-3 - 4-26-09

The Penguins will have to wait a little long to figure who and where they play in the second round. Tom Poti had a goal and three assists for the Capitals who won on the road against the Rangers, 5-3. Mike Green (above) and Alex Ovechkin each added goals for Washington. The series is tied, 3-3, and Game 7 is scheduled for Tuesday, 7 p.m. in Washington.
The Rangers played without coach John Tortorella who was suspended after an incident with Washington fans in Game 5.
The game was marred by a hit to the head by Washington goon Donald Brashear to Rangers forward Blair Betts:
Betts did not return to the ice after the hit.
Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, who looked unbeatable earlier in the series, was pulled prior to the start of the third period for the third consecutive game.
EN Says: The way this series has taken course has really been amazing to watch. It's almost been two separate series with the Rangers having a clear advantage in Game 1 and then completely falling apart in the past two games.
We'll be shocked if the Rangers can pull this out despite once having a commanding 3-1 series lead. They're a fractured dysfunctional group and teams like that just don't win playoff games.
Regarding the hit by Brashear. He should be suspended. He clearly went after Betts' head. And the damage done was fairly obvious.
