No suspension for Bayda - 5-22-09

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Hurricanes forward Ryan Bayda (right) was fined $2,500 but not suspended for his cross check to the face of Penguins defenseman Kris Letang at the end of last night's 7-4 Penguins win. The altercation touched off a brawl between Letang and teammate Miroslav Satan with Tim Gleason and Patrick Eaves with just over a minute left in regulation.

EN Says: We don't even know what to say. It's nearly impossible to determine the NHL's standard for suspending players anymore. It seems like Colin Campbell uses a dart board or a bingo ball roller to figure out punishments.

That said, Ryan Bayda had all of 4:37 of ice time last night. His presence isn't going to impact this series a great deal.

NOTE:

-The Hurricanes released some additional tickets for Game 3.
