Rangers sign Brashear - 7-1-09

According to TSN (is it really necessary to write that at this point?), the Rangers have signed former Capitals goon Donald Brashear. The deal is for two years at $1.4 million.
EN Says: Not that a goon is going to make or break your team, but Brashear is a downgrade from Colton Orr. Orr's a little cheaper and he's not as big of a defensive liablity as Brashear. Orr can actually play a little. Brashear can't.
But hanging on to Orr instead of Brashear would make sense, and as well all know, that's not how Rangers general manager Glen Sather operates.
We assume if the Rangers re-sign Blair Betts, he won't be rooming with Brashear on the road.
