Two minor deals - 7-1-09

The Lightning has re-signed defenseman Lukas Krajicek (above, No. 2) to a one-year deal. Financial terms have not been disclosed. He had 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 71 games last season.

EN Says: Not a terrible signing. If Krajicek is your No. 5 or 6 defenseman, you're in good shape. The Lightning's injuries in defense forced him to be their No. 2 or 3 guy much of last season and that's not what he is. If Tampa Bay's new acquisitions on the blue line stay healthy, Krajicek is much more effective on with limited minutes.

The Canucks signed former Blue Jackets defenseman Aaron Rome to a one-year deal worth $550,000. He appeared in all of eight games last season and recorded eight assists.

EN Says: Plan the parade.
