'I can't stand Pittsburgh' - 10-01-09

Today's geriatric snipe from a bitter Red Wings player is brought to you by Dan Cleary (above).

The Detroit forward talked to ESPN's Scott Burnside about losing the Stanley Cup to the Penguins recently:

"All due respect to Pittsburgh, and I believe they deserved to win because they beat us four out of five, but I can't stand Pittsburgh. I was so happy we won Sunday."

Cleary was referring to Sunday's exhibition game between the Penguins and Red Wings in Detroit.

EN Says: We assume Cleary can't stand scoring in clutch situations either:

In all seriousness, this is kind of cool. It's just another log on the fire of this developing rivarly. Cleary gave the Penguins respect and simply said he wants to beat them. That's what you expect out of a championship caliber team like the Red Wings.
