No more head shots.
Or at least no more "lateral, back-pressure or blind-side hit to an opponent where the head is targeted and/or the principal point of contact" head shots.
The NHLPA approved a rule propsed by the league's general manager earlier this month. It will prohibit certain types of head shots for the remainder of the regular season and postseason.
The rule is temporary for this season and will be open for fine-tuning in the offseason.
EN Says: We'd prefer a pretty straight forward "no hits to the head period" rule, but this is a step in the right direction.
