Devils lose in overtime; Penguins remain in first place - 03-30-10

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Well there's at least one team in black and gold which can beat the Devils.

Patrice Bergeron's (above) overtime goal with 19 second left in the period gave the Bruins a 1-0 win at New Jersey. Bergeron scored the goal after shot from the right point by Mark Stuart was deflected on net by former Penguins forward Mark Recchi. Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur gave up a wide rebound to the right where Bergeron was able to punch it in for an easy goal.

Tukka Rask made 21 saves in the victory. Brodeur made 33 saves in the loss.

The Devils did earn a point and are in second place in the Atlantic Division with 94 points, one fewer than the first-place Penguins.

The Bruins are in eighth place with 82 points, two more than ninth-place Thrashers.
